How to Hold Water Games at May pack Meeting

Fill large buckets with water. Use one for the target practice. Refill that one and use them all for the water transfer relay. Empty the buckets for the balloon bucket brigade.

Sponge Target Practice - One line of kids at a bucket of water with sponges in it. They each take turns throwing wet sponges at an adult standing behind the painted board.

Water Transfer Relay - Organize into four lines. Each line has a large bucket filled with water and sponges at the head. About 20 feet beyond is the small bucket, empty. The first person in each line goes to the small bucket, sits down, and places it on their head. On "Go", the next person in line uses a sponge to collect as much water as possible from the large bucket and transfer it to the small bucket on their teammate's head. After the water is in the bucket, the bucket is transferred to the other person's head, the first person returns to the end of the line, and the next person brings a sponge of water. Can do multiple heats. Winning team receives lollipops.

Balloon Bucket Brigade - Organize into four lines. Each line has a large bucket on one end with 15 water balloons in it, and a small bucket on other end empty. The line of kids should be long enough that the Scouts are separated a bit so they can't just hand the balloon to the next person. On "Go", each line has 3 minutes to transfer the balloons from one bucket to the other. At the end of the time limit, the team with most unbroken balloons in the small bucket wins. Winning team gets to throw the transferred balloons at the other teams. Maximum of 60 balloons per heat. Can do up to three heats.

Balloon Catch - Have kids at one end of the parking lot. Parents use sling shot to launch water balloons up and toward kids. Any kid who catches a balloon, (or just gets hit by one?), wins a lollipop. Anyone who wins a prize must sit out remainder. Perhaps separate the kids into two groups: older and younger? (To prevent anyone from getting run over or pushed down.)

Bring duct tape to mark off lines for the water transfer relay. Give away small prizes for the winners. Bring enough (including candy) so everyone can get something.
